Dr. Luke Hupton is a British Canadian Licensed Psychologist with the College of Health Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) practicing in the areas of Child Clinical Psychology and School Psychology in Chilliwack, BC. He completed his Doctorate in School Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) of the University of Toronto in 2026 where he undertook extensive clinical training with the Mission Public School District and a psychology residency in Child Clinical Psychology. He has extensive pre-doctoral experience completing autism assessments for the BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN), complex developmental and behavioural conditions (CDBC) assessments, as well as developmental assessments and comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults.

His doctoral research focused on clinician perspectives of hegemonic masculinity on the psychosocial development of Canadian adolescent gay men. Prior to completing his doctoral training, Luke earned a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Art Therapy/Psychotherapy. He has 10 years experience as a psychotherapist in non-profit, government, health authority, and private practice settings where he specialised in the treatment of eating disorders, concurrent disorders, mental health concerns co-occurring with neurodiversity (i.e., ADHD, Autism), 2SLGBTQI+ health & gender-related stress, early psychosis intervention, and mood disorders. He has advanced training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Dr. Hupton is deeply passionate about supporting rural communities and families as they seek answers about their child’s difficulties. It can be overwhelming and stressful navigating multiple systems at once. He takes a down to earth, relational approach to working with young people and their caregivers in order to help identify their specific needs and provide meaningful feedback for realistic and actionable change.

Currently, Dr. Hupton provides autism assessments in Abbotsford at Reframe Psychology and Counselling Clinic for children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as complex developmental and behavioural conditions (CDBC) assessments at the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre for Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children.
